Better Fashion Week is the most exciting celebration of fashion in Ireland. In 2011, Dublin saw some of the most creative minds in the Irish industry join forces with top international fashion talent to provide a once off and unique insight into the artistry of cutting-edge fashion.
Better Fashion Week (BFW) highlights included:
The Art of Fashion: Is fashion art? Fashion Editor of the Sunday Independent Constance Harris, spoke to sculptural textile artist Úna Burke, internationally renowned artist Helen Steele, wunderkind Simone Rocha and co-ordinator of the Dais project Sonya Lennon on the validity of fashion as an art form.
Andrea Crews Live Design Performance – The prolific Parisian self-styled ‘fashion-art-activists’ took to the streets of Dublin with top Irish creatives to showcase their flair for personal creativity, experimentation and independence.
The Theatre of Fashion in association with the Fitwilliam Hotel: On the back of her own Wear Irish Week, inspirational designer Eilis Boyle took the debate to the next level when she interviewed Andrea Crews, stylist Aisling Farinella and fellow designer Joanne Hynes in an industry discussion about ‘The Theatre of Fashion’.
Fashion Mentoring: The Fashion Mentoring Sessions gave people with an interest in working in fashion the opportunity to sit face to face with Ireland’s top fashion creatives. Fashion editors, designers, stylists, photographers and fashion buyers came together for one night to answer questions and share thoughts.
